Zubin roamed the endless hallways of Kelpie Academy.
“It’s awfully quiet in these halls,” Shaman Zubin thought to himself. “Where is everyone?”
Frustrated, Zubin pulled a letter from his pocket. It read:
“Meet me here.” — Magus Amir, Head Scholar of Kelpie Academy.
“WHY ARE YOU NOT HERE?!” Zubin grumbled.
He continued wandering the hallways when suddenly he heard:
CLINK… CLINK… CLINK…
Zubin approached the noise, turned the corner, and slowly opened the door to a dimly lit office where a wizard sat at a desk, tinkering with something.
“Wild Mage!” he said.
Wild Mage didn’t flinch, completely absorbed in his work.
Zubin stepped closer and tapped him on the shoulder.
Mage abruptly turned his head. “Whoa! Shaman Zubin what brings you here?”
“Magus Amir sent me this letter asking me to meet him here. Where is he?” Zubin replied.
Wild Mage shrugged.
“What is happening at the Academy?” Zubin pressed.
Wild Mage chuckled. “I don’t know but while everyone’s gone, I’m sitting in for Mage Beyna as Dean of Operations.”
Zubin asked, “Do you know when they’ll be back?”
“Well… thing is… I’ve lost track of time putting these ships in bottles. They’ll be back soon enough!” Mage said with a grin.
“What do we do until then?” Zubin asked.
Wild Mage smiled. “Have a seat, my fren. This pipe is freshly packed and there are plenty of ships to bottle.”
Zubin shrugged, pulled up a chair beside him, and took a hit from the pipe.
They decided to make the best of the time until then.
