SPEAKER_2 [ 00:02:57,860 ] Live from the Obsidian Tower. In the darkness of the lab.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:04,080 ] We are cooking up Monday Magic News for February 9th. 2026 episode 145, not 245—I've had a typo with distinguished co-hosts.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:03:17,540 ] That's all I've got to add.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:19,260 ] Bisonic . f, welcome.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:21,700 ] What's the plan for Bisonic after the tanking of their Universe game? Do we have a path forward?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:03:29,800 ] Oh, we're taking it on purpose. And then, uh, we're going to, we're going to, we're going to ride off a lot on taxes.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:38,750 ] I don't think it works that way, but it could be with some of the rich, rich people. I don't know.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:03:46,070 ] We have the means, we have the technology.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:49,830 ] That is crucial. That is crucial. Yes. So this week, the fallout remains, continues.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:03:57,600 ] For the Runiverse game.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:04:00,330 ] Just no answers there.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:04:04,890 ] From Blysonic there. Hugo has joined in.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:08,090 ] I guess I got a bit of an answer. What'd you get?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:13,980 ] Oh, I got muted for six days.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:17,000 ] Oh, you did. Yeah, I still have about a little under a day still until I can post on the Forgotten Runes. Discord again. What did you say?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:30,180 ] Oh, I made the tweet about how, um... All the Bisonic devs were found. In the Epstein Files. Oh, my goodness. I know and that's why we're trying to cover things up and trying to get a clean getaway.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:44,910 ] They can't take a joke.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:04:47,440 ] Okay. Cannot take a joke, but they can take our money and our Ethereum. That's right.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:04:53,110 ] Well, Hugo did pop into the chat and said that he's working on something else privately with some private money. And good for Hugo to get another bag of cash to do something else. That's a brave investor. Um, there. After all that promotion, the Rooniverse Direct. getting everybody to buy in and just absolutely. bailing on that. I'm curious to see what he gets his hands in on this one. Uh, yeah, strong investor, man, strong investor.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:05:25,450 ] So he mentioned, it's, it's interesting. I mean, I, I was not in the game. I stepped away for a long time. Right. But Hugo seems like he's one of the people who is like a game dev. And then he went to buy Sonic and he's back to doing game dev with somebody else. Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:05:40,970 ] Yeah. He was the head producer for a minute at Roaniverse.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:05:48,160 ] Maybe I shouldn't have said what I said today. I did not get banned, but I did not make any friends today with my experience. Exchange, uh. What did you say? I, I apologize. I apologize to you know, you absolutely are forgiven. But uh, but yeah, I insulted your producers. Basically, my thesis was, you know, because I think Matto, like, jumped in, right? Yeah, he did.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:06:18,970 ] He did, in August.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:06:20,510 ] Yeah, he jumped in in August, and, like, he's kind of, like, our best window, right? And he's a great guy. You know, he's a real wizard. He really tried to help. And I've had personal conversations with him, like, 'Hey, you need a live producer.' 'Hey, you're not running this like a game game. And so he responded to people. Who were, you know, it was the Hugo thing. Like, 'Oh, these guys are this, that, or the other thing.' And I stepped in and I actually said something to the effect of, 'I'm sure they've got good artists, right? And I'm sure they've got good engineers. But when you do a project, you need a good producer and a live producer to play on. And no one on the management and game design side of things.' Things like, I think you know that's that's how people get left down, like they. I don't doubt that they have, like, real web 2. 0 credentials. Like he was listing off the games they worked on, but, but if you, if you don't have the management, it's like any company. Like, you can have talented people, if you don't have the management and like a good design and process. And so I said something to that effect, and um, and then you know, I just i got into it a little bit with give a hoot.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:07:25,006 ] He's like, 'So sweet,' he's like, 'the nicest person in the world.' He's like, 'I'm sorry I shouldn't have been so but, basically, the takeaway was, I think that, you know, and I've said this for a long time, they had good people over there. They did not have a good design. They did not have whoever, whoever was.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:07:41,830 ] In charge of like the production process was was not good and that's what my thesis was and I didn't know Hugo was a producer so uh yeah the number one guy um running the show over there so and that's hence he was probably one of the last to leave just to try to shut things down and and rate and do whatever he needed to do Yeah. But the thing with Hugo, I mean, they started off strong, right? They had a great buy-in to the game. And, you know, after the first couple of six weeks. You know, they adjusted some of the quanta and all that. And then things just started falling apart and people just started to stop leaving because they got all the way to the level 20. and it was a grind and nobody was buying in because they raised the, what was it, the XP level in order to get to the level 25. It took forever, but the people who already... was extracted, everything was already at 25. And then they went into the guilds. And that thing all fell apart after we had a resurgence there with the guilds and getting people back in.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:08:47,290 ] And then the PVP, which was just broken. I mean, you could fight your other friends and just level up and it wasn't even.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:08:57,090 ] monitored. There was no way to monitor it, right? Right.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:09:01,730 ] So then it just felt, then it just crumbled after that, after the pixel thing. So I don't even know what happened. It's almost like they had four weeks, man. If you look back in time, June 30th to July 30th, It just... I mean, that is less than 90 days. Right, I've never seen anything like that with the money, the promotion, and the initiative.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:09:26,890 ] I mean, I don't know.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:09:29,340 ] But anyway, Bithonic . eth is with us today. So the fallout is still like whatever. And we're seeing that there is a serious tension between Magic Machine and the Bisonic thing. And it all kind of culminates today with the shadow, the Impbox broken system, if y'all didn't know, the Impbox's site was down and some others. So all the goodies that the Forgotten Council was shipping, you couldn't even utilize the website to open it. And I think I put a ticket in on Thursday about it.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:10:05,230 ] Yeah, and to add to that, part of my piling on is that Magic Machine... gave us gifts to give away, rewards. And a lot of those were in boxes. So, you know, confidentially, you know, now tape for public, like we're We're, you know, we love Magic Machine and I'm like, I'm so happy that like they're partners, but you know, if, if they, you know, if, if we got inboxes to give. away in our reward system and they dropped them. And these things are like, you know, so I was kind of like, you know, I was kind of speaking as a partner to like, what, what's going on, what's the support plan, you know, basically. Yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:10:45,700 ] and I and essentially you know give a who was like just give them time they'll fix it I knew they would I DM now Gene and they're going to look into it It's just I think that they're so far removed from the Discord and things going on for whatever reason They'll get to it when they get to it They could care okay They fixed it all right No big deal But the what is it the urgency is not there And it puts off a... It puts off an aura of I really don't care Let this thing sink. But then they fix it and it's like Wait a minute There is hope And Dota said the collectibles will be collectible again. So I mean it's kind of like something is really going on Behind the scenes Yeah that's right It's a hiatus Yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:11:35,460 ] It doesn't make any logical sense for that team to be as quiet as they are with all this going down. We've got people in here. How can we help? How can we fix it? Give us the IP. This and that. And it's just completely silent. So there's something else going on. And I'll take Dota.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:11:54,420 ] I mean, I've been burned so many times, but, you know. We'll see what he says.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:11:59,480 ] yeah i mean the other yeah no no no and so like there's so that's that short exchange i have with dota there's like so much subtext there to push into like the first one is the collectible right it's still a collectible and so like on some level it's like you know we all still believe in a collectible but there's a flip side of that which I've seen other founders say, right? Where it's like, it's just a collectible, right? So, like, if you look at Pokemon, it's a collectible, but you play it. You know, mightn't... and Monsters, we are promoting it as a collectible, but you can play it, right? And so, you know, I read into, I read two things into the dota exchange the first thing i read in the dota exchange is when he said it's collectible we still collect it is like hey guys you're collecting it on your own right it's like It's only a collectible, right? We only promise it's a collectible. Like, don't expect anything else out of it, which, like, that side of it, to me, kind of came through too.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:13:05,170 ] So I was like, you know, that's true. And, you know, there was nothing wrong with that part of the exchange. I just like, I thought that was very interesting because it feels like. They are treating it now as like, okay, we did some utility and some games and stuff, but basically, all it is, a collectible, and maybe one day we'll have a TV show and like that's it.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:13:25,390 ] Yeah, I mean, but that's not the narrative that they pushed for the first two and a half years. Right, it's not so right. They had events. They had 3D gaming. They were trying to get into the 3D rigs. They've done so much, it really, that would be a hard burden of proof in court. Like, you know, what is it?
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:13:49,690 ] Like, we're coining a term, the whole thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:13:56,150 ] I mean, so they were trying at many avenues. And, you know, it's the three-pillar stool. You know, you got... Web 2.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:14:07,040 ] You have, um... the uh the v Then you have the TV.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:14:12,380 ] So like their IRL stuff. So they had three pillars on what they're at. Well, the game is out. That was one of their pillars. The show may still happen with the IP, and then you got the community on the third pillar, and that's hanging by a thread.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:14:30,120 ] So, I mean, I mean, they said it. It's all in Wizard Wednesdays. It's archived somewhere.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:14:38,150 ] Um. So it's kind of hard. It's more than a collectible. But I think you said collectibles will be collectibles still— or something like that. Yeah.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:14:45,740 ] Yeah. And yeah, the problem. Sources have been beyond collectible. You know, Lorefy, Storytelling, Decentralized IP, Binary Star. Yeah, like the whole... the whole thing but now it seems like he's collectibles and that's why that's why there's there's some there's something else going on and my like so the other thing that i noticed from our exchange is i said like two things directly to dota i said you know Because I was talking to Gibahoot, and, you know, we were DMing behind the scenes, too, and he was like, I apologize. He's so nice. He, like, left me a voice that he's, like, the cool... I don't know. If you ever listen to this Gibahoot... hoot i love you uh but i've met him many times irl i i love i love the i love him i love him so um but but what resulted is i'm like i'm just gonna ask dota directly Hey, Dota, why don't you come here and address the Magic Machine situation? Oh, and by the way, sorry, why don't you come in here and address the Bisonic situation? Oh, and by the way, Dota, are you even still- working for Magic Machine?
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:15:49,166 ] Right, and are you gonna support this or for Magic Machine? And he came back, and he answered one of those questions. Which was, 'I can't talk about the Bisonic thing but then he didn't answer the other question. It's very Epstein. Right, it's like the question they don't answer: Like, he didn't answer if he still is part of Magic Machine, which leads me to two possible completely... speculative uh conspiracy theories. But as we know from by Sonic F, now conspiracy theories do come true. Um, so they are true. Um, my conspiracy theories are: Number one, Dota is no longer part of the team, somehow. And a conspiracy theory number two is the actual company... is in reserve ship or something with the creditors and the investors and like they're gonna still develop the IP like Elfin Elfin, but but they're like you know Dota will still handle the collection and the IP will still attempt to be developed
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:16:57,680 ] by Elf and Bear, but there's no... Like, the reason they're not doing... On some level, it's better, right? Like, the reason they're not doing the activations is because they don't actually control Magic Machine anymore, right? That's... So this is the conspiracy theory.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:17:13,760 ] Yeah, I mean, and I got a feeling. And I've heard through multiple sources that, you know, April and May and June, we'll know a little bit more about things. And maybe that's the time of a... of a of when things.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:17:29,940 ] You know, the timeout, I don't know.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:17:34,060 ] You know, What is it? The market will stay illogical longer than your bank account can handle or something like that? And maybe this will be drawn out longer than you can possibly bear to stand it logically. Like, At some point, people quit. Juan Snow. A lot of big dogs still out. And, um... and whatnot, I mean, there's people still that kind of chime in for turf NFTs like waiting for that IP to be sold so somebody can scoop that up and revitalize that project, which is a great project. They have some great technology. With the um, The, uh... placeholder tokens in somebody else's wallet that basically... You could cold wall your... your your your big stuff with a token and then put the token in your hot wallet. And you can. access do your activations like you said and access things in the turf NFT site like it was in your hot wall.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:18:36,290 ] Yeah and the proximity and the proximity-based chat like, in the actual, like, environment. Technology-wise, I mean, those guys were... Those guys were so awesome.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:18:47,210 ] Yeah and they did the thing with uh you know they made their last two hundred thousand dollars by burning um the floppy disk right to get this and this rarity and this and that. Which was a really cool thing. You had to collect five of the tokens to burn and this and that. You get an X. Whatever.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:19:06,310 ] So, I mean, there's some hope, like, you know, who was it? Jail warden one time went in there and was like, what's, what's the cost MT? Like, what do you want to sell this for? I know you've already walked out. We're going to get some money together for this one.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:19:23,360 ] And he never responded, and MT's gone. You know, that's another story. That's MT's second attempt at the same IP. He had an app store that was successful in 2011. And. He made some money at that. And then decided to turn it into an NFT project.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:19:39,190 ] In 2021.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:19:41,530 ] Where it was so we saw so much success, and then they ran, they took the runway, and lived off it instead of You know.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:19:49,950 ] This is kind of keeping your day job and just kind of build it on the side, because I don't think it was the type of a project where you needed to have all day long working on it. I mean, and give a hoot, we'll tell you that too. Give a hoot was like, man, save your runway. Don't live off of it in New York City. You're not— we're not gonna. We're not going to make it.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:20:11,540 ] But anyway, that's why we, uh, that's why you know, we live in Iowa and Eastern Europe, and have clients.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:20:18,750 ] Yeah, I mean, some of the obvious things with the NFT projects are like, you know, don't live off of it. Um, this is this is something that you could probably get through working around, you know, unless, you know. A less like magic machine where you have that runway and you can feel like you can pay yourself and feel like you're going to develop it. But, uh... Yeah, I don't know if any full-time crypto traders, maybe four of them, a handful online, but they made their money where they don't. Touch, you know, they have their.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:20:53,270 ] They just have money they play around with that's not their livable expenses. Um... So, you know, it's just very interesting. You know, we're going to continue to do this show and report on it. And, I mean, it's given us a lot of stuff to talk to. Tater has joined the chat. What's up, Tater?
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:10,450 ] What up?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:11,680 ] What you cooking? On your 3D printer.
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:15,760 ] I am printing a fly for my little beans right now.
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:20,250 ] Nice.
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:22,560 ] Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:24,330 ] Aum.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:27,460 ] That is fantastic. Did you survive the snowpocalypse in Tennessee?
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:33,010 ] I survived the snowpocalypse. I'm still trying to survive the flu, man. It's kicking my ass.
FRWC DAO [ 00:21:40,380 ] Yes.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:40,680 ] Man.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:42,580 ] It's good to see you. Finally get you back on the show.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:21:47,590 ] We have some stuff to talk about. Myth and Monsters minted out over the week. Yes. And it was, we were warned that they would close at 11 a. m. on, was it Tuesday or Wednesday?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:22:01,020 ] Um, and they, next thing you know, I was at a meeting and I got out of the meeting and I looked at my phone and damn it, they didn't shut them in. I was like, you know what? They're not going to really do it. And they did. Myths and monsters. Minted out and they took the bag. I don't know what the total was that was left to mint out. It had to be 25 or so, which they're going to use for rewards, for OGs, for this next creative push that they have.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:22:28,050 ] And I'm sure they're going to stack a bag for other things after that when raids get started, when things get popular. That would be the only lot. They're not just going to give all 25 out. I think that they're going to, they're going to give some out and then they're going to have a bag. It's like, 'Oh, well, you know what? We still have some.' All right. And when raids get started to keep the momentum, who knows what they have in their treasury. But I'm sure they got a stat there for incentives when things get going. Floor price for Myth and Monsters, 0. 1 ETH. So you're looking at 200. and something dollars meant prices around 80 to 140 depending on when you bought it on east um so and I actually listed one to see because, if someone buys it on secondary, I'm going to freak out because it would be like, all right, all right, all right, all right.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:23:22,220 ] We got something going but um, I i didn't list it for that long but I'm just seeing testing this uh listings for the for the um Myth and Monsters. Also want to be one of the first people that sells on secondary. And then the thing goes to one ETH or two ETH at pop. And you're like, damn, man, I should have never sold it for that one. And I want to have that story to tell, because the last time I did that was with those tubby cats.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:23:50,170 ] Um... I'm sorry. Oh, I remember that. Man, I cashed a cow on that thing.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:23:56,630 ] Yeah and turf and the mint on turf yeah I cashed a cow on that too But, uh... It's been a long time, so maybe I can get my money back at all. Ah, I've sunk into the forgotten roots. Because I ain't extracting anything out of that right now. Bear Snake did tweet this week. Dota is working on things. He tweeted in the Discord. We just talked about that. Elf is creating art, and he is active in the Discord a little bit. So we'll see what Elf is. Linda's talent is the V-Mark. and some other creatives for helping create some stuff for their game. Um, I was reached, I was approached to test a game for V Mark, and them. But I can't get my MetaMask to work with what they've got going on. Something about MegaEth, TestNet. And, man. I have always had a disaster with test nets. I just don't work right for me. How about you, Wild Mage?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:24:59,140 ] I'm really not.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:25:01,360 ] I i've really not been doing much at all. Like, I haven't even i haven't even minted my Forgotten Tomes yet. Like, I've... i've i've just i've just i've just stepped away been doing other things.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:25:15,340 ] All right, good.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:25:16,370 ] I'm glad you brought that up because it's next to my list.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:25:19,590 ] Um, Wizard, now Gene is busy getting requests to fix shit around the house.
SPEAKER_4 [ 00:25:25,460 ] Hmm?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:25:26,780 ] I love the image. Now, Gene, this is broken. Now, Gene, did you see what he said about that? Um, yeah, so uh, forgotten council busy with the creative initiatives with their art contests, giving out boxes, imp sites, and back up. Now, so go ahead and participate with them. I did not post the thread on their community call to action.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:25:48,070 ] I should probably do that, but... You know, maybe leave something for Wizard Wednesday to discuss since we got a lot of our own stuff. Yeah, and Forgotten Tomes Mint is gone live. And what a magical experience. And they're going to have a one-of-one show on Wednesday at 9 o'clock with the Forgotten Tomes team, with Steezy and Gibahoot, and them. Um, to talk about that, because, um, What an experience that is, going into the great library and messing around and reading all the lore. And the art is fantastic.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:26:24,449 ] You can mint from any book stack. There's a couple games in there that you can play to get a one-on-one. Um. So check out the Forgotten Tomes. This blew my expectations out of the water of what that was. I thought it was just going to be like a site and you pick a book off a shelf or something. I did not know it was going to be an interactive minting experience.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:26:43,470 ] And it just goes to show those guys did it in their spare time over three or four months. And it's something that looked that good. I mean... Like.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:26:54,340 ] Magic Machine, the answer's right in front of you. You know, you got help. And if these guys can do it. Oh, fuck. Whatever code they used or website. To come up with an interactive lore experience, I don't know. You know, maybe take that one room that has all the the blue wizard techno magic techno stuff and have it as a lab to augment your warriors with throwing in treats. Or solving riddles in order to get a either. Destroy the warrior or do something. I mean, it's there.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:27:30,220 ] What did you think, Wild May?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:27:32,020 ] Well, I was going to say, like, how big is the war chest still for funding these things?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:27:37,590 ] I don't know, a couple hundred thousand dollars. But now, I mean, the funding has dried up on the Dow side because of the price, the floor price of all the tokens. I mean. It's, a tenth of what it was three weeks ago, four weeks ago. So. They can't allocate, they can't count that unless they... do a mass sale.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:28:00,240 ] So they just got Cash and ETH, and ETH is... effectively gone. 30% down. So I hope they had a lot of stables.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:28:10,360 ] Yeah, speaking of conspiracy theories, I got two notes there. One... As I've said before, I really don't think there's going to be an NFT bull run until... They really solidify things into some sort of CBDC and get all the normies on board and forced into having wallets again. And then they're going to want PFPs and they're going to want their own individual tokens and whatnot they can express themselves, etc., etc.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:28:42,900 ] I don't see a bull run happening until that happens.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:28:45,460 ] Well, how much is a board eight? Let's look at that real quick. Board eights.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:28:50,750 ] Bored.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:28:52,500 ] Yacht Club. 6. 2 ETH for a freaking board 8.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:28:57,720 ] I mean... That is... arguably one of the best. PFPs you can get, right?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:29:05,070 ] Uh, penguins at four and a half Ethereum crypto.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:29:08,720 ] Right at about 30 Ethereum and m'lady. Roughly about, I think, it was like last I checked, it was like point Oh, it's actually going up. It's 1. 16 Ethereum at the moment.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:29:23,790 ] Man, it's kind of like... hindsight's 20/20. But it was all there to keep the at least a mint uh east per warrior wizard.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:29:34,440 ] Like, Oh, my God. Like. I don't know. It's just so like. I put it in the chat the other day. I was like, 'This.' I mean, I put it in the thread today. This is so embarrassing. Like, how did you fumble the football?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:29:48,260 ] How did you become the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl? Just absolutely...
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:29:53,900 ] Well, I thought the narrative was going to be the Patriots are going to win, but instead the Seattle Liberals won.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:30:00,590 ] Yeah, Seattle Liberals won.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:30:04,000 ] That's what they want to say about our society. It's a trash.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:30:07,900 ] The Chaz one.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:30:10,140 ] Ha! Oh man, the Chazz. What an LOL.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:30:14,050 ] I was living out there when the Chazz got started.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:30:18,310 ] I mean, I was in the Burbs. I was in Kirkland. I was across the bay in the Burbs.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:30:25,200 ] Did you ever go visit it? Oh, God, no. We never went to Seattle. We never went to Seattle. We were, like, in Kirkland, and we'd, like, go to Redmond. We'd go up to Wine Country. We'd, like, we went to the coast, like, north of Seattle, but we, like. We never went into Seattle. It was, it was, um, is bad. It was really bad. We went to Portland once. Oh my God. So, um, really quick, sorry, total tangent. But my ex, her sister lived in Portland. And I remember in the late 90s, early 2000s, going to Portland. And, like, it was artsy and cool. saw a movie with a bunch of hippies projected on a sailboat sail and it was like the glorious hippie days. I went back there like it was right after pandemic, it was like 2022, 23. And I swear to God, it was The Walking Dead. It was like people walking around, like just like with drug sores, it was fucking crazy.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:31:30,995 ] You know, I've lived in San Francisco too, like you know, San Francisco, there's crime, but there is not like a literal walking dead city. Sorry if anybody's from Portland, but um, It's kind of sketch.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:31:52,270 ] Can y'all hear me? Yeah, sorry. I went off on a Portland tangent. Never went to Chaz, and that's why we never went into the city of Seattle after our Portland experience.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:32:04,610 ] Yeah, I don't blame you. It was like that. I hung out in a biker bar one night because it was the only place I felt safe after 10 p. m. um.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:32:13,600 ] So. yeah. We've got the tomes.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:32:16,530 ] I was going to say, one other conspiracy theory though. What's that? There is also the fact that and tater had brought this out to me because I didn't um.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:32:27,570 ] I did a little investigating.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:32:30,220 ] And, of course, it all makes sense. And, of course, somehow, somehow, I've seen, like, funded. the uh the drive to uh create bitcoin you know you know his ass didn't code. Bye.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:32:43,720 ] I'm sure the funding was there. In the way things look.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:32:47,490 ] This thing is crazy. You see that, like, all the pictures of all these famous people hanging out with them, like, like, do it. Didn't you understand what was going on, famous people? Like, maybe they didn't. I don't know. Maybe it's a Bernie Madoff.
Tader Tader [ 00:33:05,140 ] Oh, they certainly knew what was going on because they were participating in the shit.
Tader Tader [ 00:33:10,640 ] 100%. No question.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:33:12,480 ] People just don't resign from CEOs and such all across the world. Because of a picture, there's got to be more to it, maybe. I, I, maybe it's just the stigma is so bad.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:33:24,320 ] I mean, and then there's not to mention the fact that the idea of... Maybe this all is an intentional slip-up and release.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:33:35,820 ] To try to motivate the masses to put blood on their hands and damn themselves.
Tader Tader [ 00:33:41,870 ] Well, what I think it is, dude, is they're pretty much just trying to show what evil is really out there. And they're going to see how much shit can we be shown. Still go to work every day and pay taxes and do the same—uh, my new to help the system move forward, you know. I mean, because if somebody shows you that they're eating babies and ripping their organs out, and And it's like, 'Oh, let me go ahead and just pay taxes and make sure I get all this for the government, ready.'
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:34:10,679 ] Can I tell you the biggest eye-opening thing is, you know, I mean, Bisoniceth and I have conversations about, you know, deep things.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:34:20,690 ] Both believe in, like, you know, certain you know, evils and conspiracies, but you know, a lot of the extreme, you know, and my other friends that I talked to, I was like, that's going a little far. That's going a little far right. That's going a little far. After this release, I'm like, tell me more. It's like, I think it's all true.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:34:40,900 ] Well, the crazy thing is the local 6 o'clock news or 6:30 news. Is uh, reporting the local news, reporting on professors and all these high-level people. In the triangle area, it had ties with... Epstein and there's pictures and emails consoling him about 'Yeah, man, I saw the charges. It's going to be all right.'
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:35:04,070 ] Holy crap.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:35:04,690 ] Dan Ariely, a very respected Duke professor who I used to study. He's the monetary... I think I even spoke about him on a couple of the... Monday magic. He's like the guy who the behavioral theorist for you like yeah like what what Eric Weinstein says he's very interesting. He's a he's a physicist he's he's like I am the only one in the sciences who didn't take money so it's it's not just some bribery compact thing. It's if whoever he was working for had a window into every... Science and every technology in the United States, because they were funding it, then they could funnel all that information to like governments. It was like R&D for them— decentralized to the entire scientific community in the country, and they were all bribed.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:36:03,880 ] Forgotten Tomes has joined us. Welcome.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:36:07,150 ] There he is. Hello, hello! What do you think about Epstein? Forgotten Tomes, Steezy?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:36:13,950 ] What did I— What do I think about Epstein and Tomes? Yeah!
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:36:18,410 ] Was he involved? Was he involved in the mince? Epstein is not associated with these tomes, correct?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:36:26,690 ] Uh... I i'm scared to speculate. I don't even know some hot water.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:36:33,460 ] Well, congratulations on the mint. Y'all went above and beyond on this thing. Thank you. We're really impressed.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:36:43,540 ] In while I was getting ready to make dinner one night. And next thing you know, everybody's hungry coming upstairs. Like, where are you? We're starving. I was like, I got to mint this thing. I got three free mints. Y'all be quiet. I'll be right back down. And, uh... I just kept buying and buying and buying. Man, I had a lot of fun looking around through there. I still got a lot to explore. Like, I got to figure out the mushroom maze and I got to figure out that puzzle with a rune of air.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:37:09,840 ] Oh, baby.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:37:11,290 ] Yeah, there's a whole lot of magic that is yet to be discovered and it has been so fun to see people get excited.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:37:18,650 ] Sharon's been in the DMs asking... you know, if she's even close. We're all zip-lipped about it— we don't want to spoil anything. We're giving everybody a fair shot. Um, But it has been so fun.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:37:32,820 ] We're doing.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:37:34,589 ] We're going to do a spaces on Wednesday to kind of do a deep dive into what's what with tomes, but I'm happy. I'm happy with how it's gone. It's been so fun to see. I feel so supported by the community. I'm looking at. The Forgotten Tome's on. Open scene, there's the holders tab. And I can just see so many people are holding way more than I thought they would. And it's just. It's so cool. I love it.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:37:59,980 ] It is. When y'all put the spaces up, I was like, 'Yeah.' There's a lot when I started going through the the great library. I was like, 'They're gonna have to talk about this for a while because we would burn it up just trying to get through a quarter of it.' Man, the art.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:38:16,630 ] Oz did all this?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:38:18,640 ] No. What's crazy is, um... So Oz did two one-of-ones. And then we had a whole bunch of other artists doing one-of-ones. Tater did a couple of them for us.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:38:31,190 ] And then, um, Just using the tools we have at our disposal, we came up with. The 120 titles and then the 120 tomes. That was all me. I was kind of the idea. and a little bit of the art, and then who was designing the grand, uh, the great library. And it was super collaborative, and we just supported each other, and we're helping each other through all of it. We've been working on this thing since last July.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:38:58,250 ] Okay, that's right. It's been a year and a half of this.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:39:03,530 ] Man, I haven't gone back in there. I'm just looking at some of the... the the The tokens here, the Blue Wizard Bastion, the Treatise of the Harmonization of Logic and Spoke. I want that book.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:39:19,540 ] Gosh, where's the forgotten?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:39:22,170 ] Where's the forgotten cocktails? I got to see that one.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:39:25,680 ] Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:39:27,150 ] I don't think that's been rendered.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:39:28,540 ] What's crazy is some of these tomes— this is a little peek behind the curtain. Some of these tomes are previous versions. We're going to do an update to higher fidelity tome covers.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:39:40,170 ] Some of the themes have changed.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:39:42,950 ] Love how some of them came out. I think we just got an older file that. Hoot and I had. So we're going to be doing an update to some of these tome covers. And it's almost going to feel like 2 . 0.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:39:54,410 ] oh wow like i can see some of the rendering you you put the comic books in there that is genius You're welcome.
Tader Tader [ 00:40:01,510 ] So how many one of ones have been claimed so far?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:40:04,870 ] We, I can tell you right now, let me. Let me look it up. There have been six minted so far. Oh, wow. We've got 14 left.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:40:15,819 ] Wow. And I got the first one, which is crazy. I was just like, oh, what is this? Look, Tome of Potions. And that's an Oz one, isn't it?
SPEAKER_4 [ 00:40:22,870 ] Hmm-hmm.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:40:23,770 ] Yeah. I mean, I've always wanted a piece of Oz's art. I could never afford it during the bull run. Uh, commissioning of him and um And yeah, this is just amazing.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:40:36,040 ] Well... I'm happy to even give some of the names of some of the artists we hired. We've got Feckless, Meeple, Oz, Tater. Tanya. Marco Fine, he's done some... commissioned art for some of my warriors. Nickelodeon. Stalemir, mech. Have a learn. Uh... And. Glossy? I think.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:41:01,940 ] And yeah, that made up our 20 different tomes.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:41:05,650 ] I mean it. Again, it's just been so fun to ideate. Look at what would make sense in a collection like this, trying to find Easter eggs and little inside jokes.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:41:17,530 ] All sorts of stuff, and then for us to go live it just felt like this is a massive weight off of my shoulders anyway. And seeing everybody respond so positively, it's been so great.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:41:29,260 ] Yeah, man, this is fantastic. The black sand breeding and racing—I mean, Holy smokes.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:41:38,250 ] You can see the numbers.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:41:41,670 ] Oceanic navigational charts is like a comment. I see. So there's been some like one-on-one. Minted for say, but they're not one of ones. There's only one copy that's been mentioned.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:41:54,050 ] Yeah, I mean... We're at 75 revealed titles, so we've still got another 45. Okay. And then... We're at 179 minted items. So far, too, we've got you know, another 800 that. Could be minted.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:42:11,800 ] And the price point is so good, I mean it's like—oh, I got some dust. I'll go in there and get browse around in the tones and pick up some.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:42:21,390 ] I love it. Be sure to make sure if you use OpenSea to unhide the tokens because I couldn't find them at first. I haven't had a hidden token from a mint in a long time. Since the opening, cracking packs with the card game, MTG.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:42:40,410 ] Um, Yeah, this is really cool, dude.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:42:44,150 ] Well, thank you. I'm excited.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:42:48,170 ] Apologies, it's easy. I've not meant it at all. Yet, I've been You know, I've been touching grass lately, but not to mention the fact that I've been working 12-hour days here lately, so...
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:43:01,300 ] Wild made you.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:43:03,320 ] Ha ha ha.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:43:06,310 ] You ignorant slut.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:43:09,230 ] Wow, are you, are you, are you old like we are? That's a crazy reference.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:43:14,480 ] Oh, yeah. Oh! Yeah, dog. Many moons. Many moons.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:43:20,650 ] Yeah, I want to say cheesy's like a little younger than me and henvoid I think.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:43:24,520 ] Yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:43:25,510 ] He's a little younger than us.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:43:27,250 ] I'll dox myself. I'm like 34.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:43:30,440 ] Yeah, you're a lot younger.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:43:33,610 ] A lot, little bit.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:43:37,070 ] Yeah, a youngin, but still knows the old Saturday Night Live jokes. Yeah, I'm gonna mint too as soon as I get the right uh machine. That's not touching any critical like infra because I can't you know. We're I'm locked down like Fort Knox, but I can't wait. It looks amazing and congratulations, to you and to who? It's awesome. Overcooked.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:44:00,600 ] The cool thing is, guys, you can actually use your avatar that's connected to your wallet. So, that's cool. Walking around and the thing I use, Hadrian.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:44:11,450 ] Was pretty cool because it's like you're talking to some other OG Wizards.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:44:16,850 ] In there.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:17,330 ] Um, We were cracking up because I thought, is this first utility for warriors?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:23,580 ] First utility for souls? I mean, shoot!
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:27,340 ] I don't actually know, but...
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:44:29,670 ] The trick-or-treat. I think the trick-or-treat had him. Did it?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:33,270 ] You're probably right. You're probably right.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:39,530 ] Um, but, Um... Curator, I was going to say the same thing to you, bro. Congrats on the mint of Myths and Monsters.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:44:48,420 ] I have been... light in my coin, so I wasn't able to mint, but I... I'm excited to be able to pick something up. Either off the floor or find one I really like. I definitely want to pick something up and participate in what you guys are doing.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:45:03,670 ] Yeah, do it. We'd love to have you and Hoot Minted. Yeah, we're all busy devving our own stuff, but yeah. Thank you. It's it's it's great, it's just it's great to it's great to build. So thanks man.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:45:17,330 ] Absolutely.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:45:18,510 ] Are we going to have a big Titan Tuesday tomorrow?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:45:22,950 ] I think we will.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:45:23,630 ] I think Titan Tuesday tomorrow will be little because we're so busy. We're really like... February is really tight because we've got a lot of, I mean, the devs and I are just talking every minute, but this one should be short. But I bet the next Titan Tuesday is going to be long because we've got the contest going and it gets judged. The judging begins next Tuesday. On the creative contest, which is Casper. Casper blew my mind. I think that that piece that Casper did was insane. So that's a pretty high bar. I don't know if we're gonna have five winners. And that one's pretty much a lot.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:46:10,600 ] Yeah, that one is good. And I'm actually in the tomes now. I'm minting some more. I just got a Goblin Mechanica.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:46:18,350 ] I'm going to try again. I got this one spot I meant from, and I haven't got anything good out of this one spot.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:46:24,350 ] Well. I'm not going to spoil anything, but... Different shelves meant different books. Thank you.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:46:30,560 ] I'm canceling that transaction right now, thank you.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:46:36,120 ] I'm going to go to a different show. Because this one I've got is getting garbage tubs. I mean, from nothing.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:46:45,260 ] And it's the blue wizard one. I thought I was like, 'Ah, I'm going to admit the first one.' That's what, that's it. Nobody, everybody's going to walk past that one. No, it's, it's the garbage one. Oh, I'm going to go in a wild mage one. Let's see what this is. What's going on in potions?
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:46:58,070 ] That video game book is incredible, that one-on-one. I need it. Is it Forgotten Gaming? I need it. I need that bad.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:47:07,939 ] Yeah, these are fun. Okay, I'm going to mint another one. 16 cents, man. Gas has gone down.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:47:13,830 ] So I just pulled the Goblin Mechanica. Uh, let's see what we pull now.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:47:18,560 ] Um, Oh, we should be getting the OpenSea TGE coming here soon, maybe around the end of February, by the way.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:47:30,300 ] Open C1. The OpenSea token generation event.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:47:34,170 ] Okay. I won't get much from there, but... I don't know. You spent a lot of money, didn't you? Yeah, I used to, yeah.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:47:42,350 ] So, I mean, I guess we'll see. We'll see what happens. I don't know.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:47:47,940 ] Surely, um... We'll get a little bit of pocket change.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:47:51,650 ] Yeah. Um... And you got to tell me what room you're minting from. Wild Mages.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:48:01,150 ] I'm trying to remember. I need to, let me get in there real quick.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:48:08,390 ] Sorry, continue. I didn't mean to cut you off.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:10,390 ] The library is searching for your tomes.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:14,680 ] Zero one revealed. I'm trying to get the reveal here.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:18,240 ] I'm trying to save enough ETH here so I can go open some int boxes too after the show. Mmm.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:25,950 ] Because I really want a wizard so I can... pull a wizard so I can tell Dota to go get it for me.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:48:31,840 ] Uh-huh. Thank you. You should go talk to Tad.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:38,160 ] Oh, he can do it?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:48:40,130 ] Our... You should go find his wizard. That's what I'm trying to say.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:43,890 ] Oh, I got a blood in the glyph. A Rituals of the Runes Circle.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:54,370 ] Fine. Tad. Okay.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:48:57,360 ] We're going to go to the fine tag.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:48:59,110 ] Oh. I can't believe Henvoid won the bet last night. I'm going to have to send a lot of assassins his way.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:49:06,470 ] Yeah, I need that token so I can get re-verified. Uh, sir. Because I gotta... I gotta get... I gotta get a not a legion but... I got to get a Titan status.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:49:21,730 ] Aren't you already Titan status? No, I'm not Titan status. I got seven.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:49:26,700 ] Wait but 10 has to be tight instead.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:49:28,680 ] I know I'm I gotta get some more somehow I gotta be creative.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:49:33,020 ] Maybe you could bet.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:49:38,450 ] Some more. I can bet some more. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:49:43,260 ] I don't know. Nothing's coming up. Then I'm college basketball, I guess.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:49:46,920 ] Well, I mean, Carolina beat Duke, which is – I'm good on that one. And then we got hockey for international hockey.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:49:56,490 ] International Hockey.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:50:00,250 ] I'm looking. Uh, on what's available and this one's not available but the big black dragon on the white background Woo! He's a guardian.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:10,110 ] He does look fire.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:50:11,590 ] Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:13,310 ] Oh, I see here. Oh, yeah. Apollo's bow. How do you shoot this thing?
SPEAKER_4 [ 00:50:19,640 ] Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:20,380 ] I need to get an arrow. Where's the arrow? No arrows. All right, that's not working.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:26,220 ] I can't figure that out today.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:30,140 ] But yeah, so the rest of the thread, blood and gold report, $50 wizards, $80 souls, warriors hold at five. Sacred Flames hold at 150, which... That's not a bad deal. I mean... Get a one-on-one still from... from whatever's left—I think that there's some enticements there. Ponies at $60, which is, ah, utility gone.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:54,620 ] Um. I can't imagine pulling a one-on-one at this point.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:50:59,570 ] That would be cool. I mean, it would. Give you hope, at least.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:05,140 ] Maybe a couple hundred bucks.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:51:08,360 ] Yeah, maybe I don't. I think how much would people pay for Nosferatu at this point?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:13,310 ] I'll give him a thousand bucks for it.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:17,520 ] That might actually be the best offer. You need to get it all the time. Thank you. Yeah, he's gone, man. I have no idea where he's at.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:51:25,760 ] Yeah, he, uh... He just randomly... I follow him on TikTok.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:51:31,580 ] And he likes to vague post. Thank you.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:35,830 ] Um... That's cool. Okay, I found Tad Major. I'm going to go over here and bet on this bookcase. Let's see what happens.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:44,440 ] There's probably going to be some garbage.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:47,050 ] Cobalt cocktails or something.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:51:49,840 ] See you.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:51:51,530 ] Come on now, I wouldn't steer you astray like that.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:55,490 ] I'm checking now.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:51:57,940 ] The anticipation is killing me. It's like the library is searching for your tones. Like, all right. Bye. Thank you.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:52:06,560 ] It doesn't just appear, but it's going to mint here soon. So, yeah, that was the blood and gold report. We have the fool's glyph, which is one of my favorites. It's the old code shirt. Verdict veins. Common.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:52:23,570 ] So I got a comment from Tad. Thank you, Tad.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:52:31,270 ] I'm sorry, amigo. I can just hear the disappointment in your voice.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:52:36,180 ] I'm just like minting randoms. Okay, I might roll it one more time. We're going to see what else we pull. This is addicting. He got so rugged. I don't know if I have enough ETH now. Damn it. Now I got to go take it from my Myth and Monsters wallet since I can't mint anymore there.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:52:51,220 ] Oh, shoot. Oh, no.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:52:55,010 ] All right. Maybe I have enough. We'll see. How much is it?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:53:01,960 ] Oh, they're dirt cheap.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:53:07,080 ] Man, what about Night in the Seven Kingdoms last night?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:53:10,910 ] Brother?
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:53:12,560 ] oh man!
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:53:13,640 ] Like and then and then oh, that last moment—I'm like, 'What do you mean? This episode is not gonna go on for 30 more minutes so I can see the pipe.' What are you doing to me?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:53:25,720 ] Oh, it was so good. I was really pleasantly surprised and shocked. I mean, now I got to go read the books. Thanks.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:53:34,870 ] Curator for that—yes, watch episode five before you read the books because that's like it's a big deal. It's a big, it's a it's a big thing. This is the banger. This is the one. You know how Game of Thrones always does a thing, episode 9, right? Like, it wasn't episode 10. Episode 10 was always the wrap-up. Something that, like... Like, you know, spoiler, Ned Stark gets executed episode 9. Like, episode 9 is always something, right? So episode 5 is like episode 9.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:54:04,660 ] Did he just say Ned Stark gets executed?
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:54:10,270 ] Was that a spoiler? Who hasn't? Who has not seen Game of Thrones?
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:54:18,340 ] You know, oddly enough, I've been randomly talking to a lot of folks on my mail route because... Like, just with all the snow and ice and stuff. Everyone's been catching up on their shows and whatnot.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:54:32,820 ] So I've been randomly talking to folks, and I've kind of been surprised at how few folks are actually watching Nine of the Seven Kingdoms. Or even have watched Game of Thrones.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:54:48,220 ] Yeah, I remember when I read the books in the 90s, it kind of blew my mind. And the Red Wedding... Like, there are scenes where you're just, like, reading, and it... I mean, he wrote it for a reason. He deconstructs fantasy by, like, doing shocking things. I love it. Yeah.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:55:05,980 ] And this is not necessarily a shocking thing. There's just like, it's really good. Like the whole fight, the whole thing is pretty awesome.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:55:12,780 ] That like the the moment in the Red Wedding, like the most just like tragically energy field, just like oh my goodness, I like. Because I'm not one to necessarily like.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:55:28,230 ] I guess geek out and emotionally react. Too.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:55:32,319 ] Movies and shows and books and that sort of thing, like it needs to be something significant, but the look. of Desperate resignation.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:55:43,840 ] in um Catelyn Stark's face.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:55:47,350 ] When she cuts open. the neck. of uh of of I guess of like the fray girl. And she's just like, she's just like, 'Fucking it. Okay, fucking it. I get it. I know what's about to happen. I understand. And it is tragic.' and like and she and she she you have to go back to that moment in the red wedding because he acts it so beautifully with so much just ah like it's it's it's it just watch her facial expression whenever she finally gets her throat slit it's it's Ugh. It's so much.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:56:29,140 ] I remember being in Costa Rica. I didn't know anything about Game of Thrones and watching that. I was on a vacation and I think I stayed up all night on vacation watching that thing on the laptop.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:56:39,330 ] And I was like, what is this show? Oh, my goodness.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:56:43,130 ] It was crazy. That's funny. Was that your first introduction to Game of Thrones?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:56:47,670 ] Yeah, it was. Someone was like, you've got to watch this thing. And it was season three was already in, and I started on season one. And then, of course, I couldn't stop.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:56:56,510 ] What's what's funny is the fact that, um, you mentioning that is that my parents' first introduction to Game of Thrones was just randomly on HB on a hotel room, and that was the Red Wedding.
Wild Mage [ 00:57:07,050 ] Thank you. Oh, jeez.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:57:09,420 ] That's hilarious.
Wild Mage [ 00:57:10,360 ] Oh, wow. I don't know.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:57:12,370 ] Please.
SPEAKER_3 [ 00:57:14,410 ] And so obviously they had to watch the series.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:16,650 ] Yeah. Well, so next week, we don't have a guest. I'm going to line up a guest next week, somebody outside the box, and we're going to have a reaction from the Tomes.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:27,810 ] From the Tombs, uh, Spaces on Wednesday night. I have enough ETH to go back and try to mint some more. Um.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:40,620 ] And I'm opening up a box right now. And then we're also going to get a reaction from Titan Tuesday.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:48,260 ] On next Monday.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:50,600 ] And, uh, Damn, I got a peach.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:54,050 ] Did not pull a good inbox. Um.
FRWC DAO [ 00:57:56,670 ] What's up?
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:57:57,860 ] I'm going to open another one.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:00,990 ] So it's up and working? It's up and working, yeah. And it's only like 16 cents to open these things. Man, I remember when they were like seven bucks.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:09,240 ] Ugh. For gas. Like. Man.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:12,820 ] So I'm opening up another inbox right now. Then we're going to have live reaction for Titan Tuesday. We'll be in the middle of February, so I'm sure we'll have an update. On what's going on with that and then I think the 17th is when they um contest closes for Um. for Myths and Monsters Creative Contest. So get your entries in. You have a chance to win a... Another token. And I've got some ideas.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:41,810 ] Out there pending.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:44,360 ] Um, to help try to win another one because I'm trying to get Titan status. Man, I got a jar of sap. This is rug. Rug. Frickin' rug.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 00:58:53,700 ] It's a bad night. It's a bad... Don't buy a lottery ticket tonight, man.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:58:58,110 ] I'm going to open one more box. I can't handle it. This is my third one. All right. I've got a peach. I got a, uh, Jar of sap. Pony scroll, pony scroll. Pony scroll, please. No whammies, no whammies.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:59:14,260 ] Big dollars, big bucks, no whammies. I mean... Do y'all remember when Red opened up those 140 treat boxes? That day.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:59:25,400 ] I do not. He spent eight hours opening those damn things. And he was trying to find a contract to open them all at one time. And he was like, 'I don't care what it costs in ETH. Just open the damn boxes.' It was open before the shadows met. He was trying to get a book of shadows.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:59:40,180 ] Oh, that was so funny. He was sitting there opening box after box. He's like, 'This is ridiculous. This is not meant for a whale.' And I think that was the point.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:59:51,010 ] Damn Atlanta. All right. I'm not winning here today.
SPEAKER_5 [ 00:59:55,310 ] You got to share how to open a box. I got one. I'm itching to open.
SPEAKER_2 [ 00:59:59,150 ] All right. I'm going to post the link on Twitter. Oh, we got hoots.
SPEAKER_5 [ 01:00:03,090 ] We got Hoot in the audience.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:00:04,700 ] Так. There he is. Forgotten Tomes. I'm going to tag you guys. Forgotten Tomes.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 01:00:11,310 ] Bring Hoot up on before we close it. I got to... Who'd I been saying good things about you and your mint and everything.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:00:22,430 ] He's got a... Oh.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:00:27,280 ] I'm sure he's like, try to put down kids my kid fell asleep listening what was your what was your third uh Mint box.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:00:36,480 ] A lantern. A lantern, a jaw stab, and a peach. I mean, a lantern's useful, though, but yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:00:42,950 ] Yeah, I mean... And this is what these are— the boxes that I had. Like. when um here let me break it up These are the boxes I had when... things went to shit. And like, I had to wrap these bids out and it just got crushed on wrapping bids. And I just picked up all these boxes for retail.
FRWC DAO [ 01:01:05,090 ] What's up, Luke? What up? What's happening?
FRWC DAO [ 01:01:08,010 ] Happy Magic Monday news.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:01:09,750 ] Happy Magic Monday news— we're excited for your show on Wednesday. Um, I'm really enjoying the tomes. Man, I just minted uh three on this air and I gotta i got the first uh I got a first one of something.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:01:24,090 ] What is this? I got the first blood in the glyph.
FRWC DAO [ 01:01:30,680 ] Heyo. That sounds good.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:01:33,520 ] That's a good one.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:01:35,740 ] So I'm going to continue to mint, mint, mint, open boxes, and everything.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:01:42,300 ] Curator was saying that uh You're awesome. And, um, Your tomes is awesome too. Thank you.
FRWC DAO [ 01:01:51,090 ] Curator likes my tones.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:01:53,810 ] And he said that you were a very amicable individual. A little personal.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 01:01:58,650 ] The little tomes. Yeah, that was private. That was in the private email server. Oh, no. Yeah.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:02:07,040 ] Well, thank you all for joining us. It is 9:33. Used to have more on Monday, but that is no longer. So we'll probably kick it in the... I don't know. Yeah, where are we going to kick it? There's nowhere to kick it. I guess we can go to...
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:02:23,140 ] EW! Ehh!
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:02:25,570 ] Yeah, I don't know. We used to have all those things, but maybe we'll just save it for next week. But we'll try to find a guest and we'll get reordered. But this has been a good show. We got a lot covered. Conspiracy theories.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:02:38,999 ] Um, Tombs, Mitt. And, um...
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:02:42,190 ] Yeah, I have to say that I... Oh, on another conspiracy theory note.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:02:47,140 ] I do genuinely believe. that The... This is still a psyop, the revelation. of the Epstein Files.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:02:59,460 ] And I think that what we're going to see.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:03:02,780 ] is some sort of pushback and some sort of and I think that like the real antichrist system is going to be the one that's going to promise peace and prosperity away from all this but it's still going to be another psyop in itself.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 01:03:18,830 ] That's a possibility, man. I just know the alien, the alien revolution is going to come like the revelation. It's, it's gotta be aliens, right? It's like, it's gotten so crazy. Now it's aliens are going to show up or something next week.
SPEAKER_3 [ 01:03:32,940 ] Well, aliens slash demons.
FRWC DAO [ 01:03:37,950 ] Mmm.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:03:39,440 ] How do you open the gate to the seventh realm of tomes? Like, I can't figure that out. All right.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:03:46,130 ] Oh, there's a TV.
FRWC DAO [ 01:03:46,910 ] I believe in you, Henboyd. You can figure that one out.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:03:49,760 ] I'm going to figure it out.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:03:54,640 ] I don't have a, what was it? I don't have a, oh, I need to get a token with a key. I don't have one.
FRWC DAO [ 01:04:01,270 ] Well. Sell some jars of sap. Get some.
SPEAKER_8 [ 01:04:06,060 ] What's up?
FRWC DAO [ 01:04:07,210 ] 100 jars of sex.
FRWC DAO [ 01:04:13,310 ] No, I'm glad you're enjoying Tombs. And yeah, I'm pumped to talk more about it with Steezy on... on Wednesday. We'll dig into some stuff. Hope to see you all there.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:04:23,370 ] Well, sounds good. I'm going to leave you out with Casper's in the shadows. Outro for Monday magic news. We'll catch y'all next week. Thank y'all for tuning in episode one 46.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:04:35,140 ] We're coming in hot. We got... Goodness, two months before our three-year anniversary, which will be a big show. Now Gene said that we may be able to get the founders on. um so hold your cross, your fingers— we would like to have a Dota elf or bear snake one of the three, even now. Gene um for the three-year anniversary show. So we're so close. We won't end now. Y'all have a good night.
Cur8tor Cur8Tor [ 01:05:01,560 ] Bye, y'all. Thanks, everyone.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:05:04,380 ] See ya.
SPEAKER_2 [ 01:05:47,040 ] Oh, elf music.

It's Monday Magic News.
Live from the Obsidian Towers, Hen Boyd.
I made it. Just in time.
Yep, yep. Man, what a day.
Yeah, you seem like you've got some packed weekends here lately. It's just every day is slammed.
Yeah, like, we're a lot reporting the Forgotten Runes Wizard Cult and Derivative Project news and ideas.
As we get it, live from the Obsidian Tower.
I'm about out of breath from running up the stairs.
Well, It was worth it. Thank you.
You know. I think... I guess we'd have to invite him on, or maybe he can request.
But I see that Afec... is actually in the space. And, uh, I had actually asked him because, uh, You know, because Dr. Slurp had to delay by a week.
Maybe Offett could be our guest tonight.
Hey, if he wants to, or the pig wants to. We can have them. Thank you. If not, we can set them another day.
Yeah.
We've got some stuff to talk about tonight. I know that Dr. Sloat was our scheduled guest, and we got the notification this morning.
Yeah, we did our best to get the show notes ready, and I got the categories for the trivia, and then when I found out he wasn't going to be on, I really didn't get the questions ready. Because I didn't know what to do.
Well... Oh. What we need, what we need, what we need to do. His ass magic machine. To throw a couple of them goblin crates for us to give away.
I think that, that can be arranged. Look who's on stage.
There he is.
Um. Yeah.
The, uh... Well, how about that trailer, man? Good gracious.
That's awesome.
It was very enjoyable to watch. It, uh... It really made me feel like the heyday of, like, Late 90s, early 2000s, like computer gaming.
Starcraft, Red Alert, stuff like that.
So have you actually played any Settlers of Catan? I have not.
I've got the game. I went to a thrift store and bought it, and I haven't played it yet.
Well, you know, it's real simple. A lot of the issue and conflict arises as far as having to negotiate and barter with other people who have access to resources that you need and vice versa.
And in that, people can, um... You know, I don't know. I've seen more couples fight over Sadler's Catan than any other board game.
You said that once in the Wizard Wednesday, I think, about that. Um, Yeah, that is an interesting game, and I did a lot of research on it, and it's been around a while, and there's a couple different versions of it. It's kind of like Monopoly, right? You've got different themes. Now we've got the Goblin Town theme. And the interface looks great.
The graphics are clean. The music is awesome. And I actually played it today in my Jeep in the nice sound system.
That's a good mix. It's a good beat. I can see, like, Bear Snake doing, like, conjuring that up. And that's good.
I mean, it's just top quality. Like anything Magic Machine puts out, it's just like the top, top, top. Professional.
I'm going to have to revisit that. I guess I was paying more attention to the visuals at the time and not necessarily... you know, what was going on.
Audio live, yeah.
The audio and also the little story it tells about the uh little goblin that stole the chickens and he became a rich and powerful goblin, made allies with the goblin king. And then you're sitting at the tavern with all this gold on him and he gets. shot in the back of the head by the same goblin. He had his chicken stolen.
Well, you see, like... In the gameplay of Settlers of Catan, there's definitely times in which you can move and do things and purchase things and trade for things and truly be a son of a bitch to somebody. And like, you know, especially considering the fact that you did it because you had to, so that way you could secure the win. Just out of their grasp all of a sudden, and they didn't even see it coming.
Like, yeah, it seems like they're going to capture that kind of element, which, of course, is a lot of fun. You know, fucking blue shells.
And I mean, it's like it's just perfect timing. I don't know about you, but I just looked at the charts. Man, what a goblin candle that just went up to twenty-eight hundred on Bitcoin. And it got sold off and everything got sold right back off where it started from yesterday. Like, what a goblin move.
And, you know, it's a bear. It's just a reminder. It's a bear market. And I heard the financial report this afternoon.
And somebody was talking about, yeah, a lot of. Lotus. big funds took profits today. So that's why you saw it nosedive.
Thank you.
And, uh, Yeah, I mean, it's gobbling like that. People took profits today when you just think things are going up.
Um, Keeps us in check on what's going on. Not to the fact that Bitcoin is $27,000 a coin. And three years ago, the thing was barely eight. So, I mean, just come on, guys. Like, really? But anyway, but the alts are the same. So that's the crazy thing. Yeah.
Uh, Chainlink's pumped a little bit.
Let's do it. They're going to open up another phase of staking, apparently.
And it's very, I don't know, certain parameters so as to be able to see if you're eligible or not.
But... Yeah, man. I don't know. Not a financial advisor, not financial advice.
But I convinced my own parents to go majority in Chainlink for their crypto portfolio.
I mean, and if I love them, like, you know.
Well, you know, this is just what I'm saying. That's right.
That's right.
Right.
Mm-hmm.
Well, what else is going on? I know that we actually have an agenda today. How do I say it? Alfec? Alfec?
Yeah, how do you pronounce it?
Sorry about that. I have one hand in an aquarium right now. I'm doing some aquarium maintenance. It's Olfec. But actually, You know, Everyone's. encountering it in text.
Whatever you want to say is cool.
Yeah, that is awesome. It's like Leif Dojang. Never thought of it as... part Viking and part, um, Japanese. So, you know, you never know until you have a guest on there and they clarify. So thank you so much for doing that. The mystery has been, and I love the fact that it's kind of an aquarium that, that just is basically like confirms. What a standup person. Uh, Aafek is.
He will not allow fish to die on his watch. No, he will not. Thank you.
And I feel bad for them.
Your fish is safe. Around OFAC.
Yeah, this is actually, in this tank, is like... the end of a dynasty because I was breeding these fish and I, I like started not having time for. Breeding anymore. And these are like the last remaining of like what's what once was like a very large population of this fish called sparkling grimy. And now there's just like one sort of like maybe so most people when they breed fish they call these ones that have like. maybe, you know, your population isn't very genetically diverse.
you'll get a fish that has like a crooked back or something. And most people will just kill those. But. I don't really have it in me to do that.
This tank has, like... to of the last remaining of this large population that both have crooked backs. And they're the final survivors.
It's like you gave them a retirement home.
Yeah, but they're like, 'They're not old.'
You know what I mean? They're just young and... maybe less than genetically ideal, but, you know, they're still enjoying their life, I think.
You know, I kind of like Ofec better, even though initially off that. Definitely felt more humorous on a juvenile level.
Well, you can go for that. I mean, it's just a made up word. So.
You can, uh, You can. Pronounce it however you want.
I like how it's got that versatility.
Speaking of versatility.
How many wizards and warriors do you hold, Ophek?
Oh, just two wizards. I bought them the day after mint on the secondary market. I think. And I didn't really know. I think they were maybe my My third NFT.
And so I didn't really know.
What I was doing, I was just looking for ones that I thought looked nice. But. Also, I was like, it was a large amount of money for me at that time. So I was like really hesitant and lots of times I'd like pause on one I liked and then it would disappear.
You know, someone else would pick it up. Продолжение следует... I think the first one I bought the day after mint, and then maybe the second one that took me a little longer because I kept like picking one and then like hesitating.
And then Warriors.
I think I have three.
And then I have two ponies also.
And I have a sacred flame.
Oh, that's right. You have a sacred flame from the lore, right? You were one of the first.
Yeah.
Yep. Yeah. That's right. Yeah, and I got lucky on the ponies, too, because... I forgot how I got the second one, but I got the first one because I bought a merch box.
Oh.
And you wrote lore. And you got the second one.
That was another.
That's that. That may be the case, yeah.
That's how I got my two ponies.
Yeah, you wrote lore because it was... it was the incentive to do it.
Yeah, and you were one of the first to write lore for your tokens.
And you got the flame. And I just couldn't do it at the time because it was $135 in gas, if I remember correctly. Oh, yeah. To light that bore. And I just could not. I didn't have the money to do it. And I regret that. But, you know, it is what it is.
Yeah, by that time, I had started with that would have been an outrageous amount of money. But then I had a little bit of a windfall, like just trading well.
And so that's the only reason. I mean, in my normal everyday life. I don't think I could ever spend a hundred something bucks writing a story.
You know, speaking of, like, lore and airdrops... You guys notice how Dota... And I want to say he even talked about it on Wizard Wednesday.
I'm going to riff on the possibility or the, I don't know, just the idea of... maybe those who I guess, produce more lore in the Book of Lore.
Might happen, I guess somehow get rewarded for that.
And I kind of wonder if them just kind of saying that out loud on Twitter might actually be an indication that maybe we really need to start posting some more lore.
Yeah, they come back to that every now and then.
Because definitely it was some sort of incentive at the beginning of it to write lore just to get people to do it. And it paid off tremendously. And it actually allowed for more creation of lore. You got your ponies, you got your warriors, and all that. And, you know, to fuel that. And then it just was like one wizard Wednesday elf says. No more incentive for writing lore, really. You know, you need to do it.
organically or whatnot.
So, yeah, I mean, maybe they're pivoting back to that and how beneficial that was because you never knew what was around the corner.
Maybe it has something to do with the goblin saying, 'Hey, if you have lore on your wizard, you're getting an extra crate.' or something crazy like that. Speculation, but that would be super freaking cool. If you did, like, you get a plus one great drop. Or a purple crate.
Or for every piece of lure, you get an extra crate.
Of course, I don't actually think they would do that, but that would be awesome, though. Yeah.
Since they have the on-chain and off-chain lore now, it would be kind of tough.
Yeah.
Yeah, I've been posting. I need to post up some more. I've got two more pieces that I've completely written. I just need the, uh, I just got to get the illustrations together.
For sure.
Well, what else do we got going on? We got the Goblin Town news. The game's going to be here shortly. Part two, we got the Scree list.
We've got the... yeah, in the airdrop that's going to happen. That's going to be a big event. I mean, I can't. Only speculate that we'll get a bump in wizard purchases and warrior token purchases. Right when that's going to happen for people looking for extra drops. And, you know, Star Wolves has a game that is like a turn-based thing, but it's a daily thing where you exhaust your points. And it takes like 24 hours to build stuff. And I really enjoy that game. And I only go check on it once a day. And I hope Settlers of Catan, I mean, excuse me, the Goblin Town game is something similar to that. Because this really doesn't take much time and you can just periodically move your stuff and whatnot. And I've been playing the Star Wolves game, goodness, probably eight months now. And really enjoy that. And now, base is all right. I'll build. And I think, if I get a few more Stardust points, I get a free hoodie, which, hey, man, playing that once a day for two minutes a day. It's worth a hoodie.
Ew.
Dude, the first... Forgotten Rune Wizard's hoodie was so... So dope. I mean, I actually, I don't like the heat press on the back. But it was like, a super heavyweight. hoodie it was one of the i mean i i wear that all the time now and the lettering down the sleeves. That was like a really cool item.
You got one of the rare ones. I think there's a 2080 print on those. Maybe Bear was telling me it was a 7030. That you got one with the wizard head on the front and the writing on the sleeves. That was a super dope one. I got the one with the, um, with a triangle, rainbow triangle head, whatever it's called. Thank you. Great to see you.
But on... Are we talking the first round of merch or the second round of merch?
Okay, yeah. Mine has a big, has a purple hat. Wizards. On the back.
And, uh, And then, right, like, it just says Forgotten Runes, Colt.
Like the heart badge or whatever. And then yeah, writing down the sleeves. And then it's, it's like, 'The best part about it for me is like that— it's like these super heavyweight. Cotton. you know, The second one is like a normal thinner hoodie. This is like a... The kind that fishermen wear and shit. It's really nice.
The first one is super dope, and I never wear my big one, my original one. I've worn out two of the other ones. from the second merch drops. And I probably need to order some more. But yeah, I have the other design.
Than you from that first one. Um, And I still have my candle. Do you have yours?
Oh, no, dude, that thing is rancid. I put that outside in the garbage as soon as it came. I...
Thank you.
I can't stand artificial scents. And it was like reeking. It made the whole box reek. Yeah, yeah. Amen.
That shit was disgusting.
Really? Huh?
This outfit.
Thank you. Yeah, yeah. I got two of the hoodies. We fucking wear them all the time.
Acid was like so confused. He was talking. She's in the kitchen making some food. What's up, Outback?
Hey, good to see you.
I love my candle, and I was actually DMing Nalgene a week ago trying to track down what the scent was.
Oh, you like it. Wow. Well, to each their own, you know, it takes all kinds of the world.
Co. out of Pennsylvania. So I'm trying to track it down.
I'm trying to track down the hoodie.
Algin won't tell me.
That's probably one of the best hoodies I've ever seen in war.
It was a, that was a really, you know, out of during that era when everyone started doing merch lines and all that stuff, that was a pretty cool merch box. Cause it was like a wide array of things. And. Like, high quality on some, you know, questionable quality on some of the others. But like a pretty cool spread. Whereas some of these other ones, I got something from them and it was just like, wow, this really actually is terrible. Like I would never do anything with this.
Did y'all get one of the treasure trove boxes?
What was that one? That was the one that... Oh, my goodness. Let's see. Um, I'm drawing a blank.
Meeple Dad did. Out of Canada with the games and all that. And if you were an early investor, you got a bonus box. It came with a penguin beanie and socks.
Like church, like thin church socks. They were awesome. They're like really cool with a secret tower on the back of it. Dice and all this stuff.
A Nosferatu bottle opener.
A Nosferatu bottle opener.
Oh, yeah. That one was a high-quality item. Uh... That was last year.
I wonder what's going to be in store for this year. I keep ordering every couple months another order.
Yeah, I mean, there's been a lot of rage about penguins and the pudgy penguins and their stuffies and stuff like that. But, I mean, you know, Forgotten Runes has been on that.
Traded for almost three years now. So, you know... That's going to pop off, too, along with the Goblin.
Yeah, personally, I thought Bored Ape and Bathing Ape actually, like, announcing a collab together was, like, a bigger deal.
What was that?
Bored Ape. The Bored Ape Yacht Club and then that, like, Japanese fashion brand, A Bathing Ape. Oh.
I don't know anything about that.
They announced that they're going to be collaborating.
It's... I never really understood that because I couldn't ever picture like... Wanting to wear a board ape on something I have and not owning.
An eight. You know? It's hard for me to imagine that person.
I agree with that.
I think I'd like it.
I think I would like a hoodie with a random Forgotten Roots familiar on it, though.
Yeah, it has. I think there's a potential for like greater mass appeal or like. Not knowing what it is, but just being like, that's a dope image. But I don't know if a board ape really has that kind of magic. It certainly doesn't for me, but maybe for other folks it does.
I agree with that. Uh, I. But, you know... You know if you see one, though, if you're in the space. If you see a board eight.
It's usually instant conversation, or it's like Nickelback or Creed, you know, instant condemnation. Let me see him out. I don't know. But, you know, there's a big fan base for both.
I mean, come on now. We all have to admit that. There's at least one Creed song that you kind of— you know, you kind of at least, like, nod your head to.
I mean, I guess so.
Maybe, but there's not one Bored Ape that I want on a piece of my clothing.
That is a great quote.
So part of the reason why I asked Ofec to come on as a guest was because a while back, we were on a space together.
With, I guess, a bunch of other, I guess, traders and collaborators that you had previously, like, known and worked with.
And, like, how you, you know, you've kind of been in the NFT game. For a good while. Like, probably longer than most. And, um... Oh, you know.
I'm one of the fools who's still here.
This is true.
He's an OG now.
But then also on top of that, though, you have done a little bit of dabbling with creating as well.
Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't know. I put out maybe... four or five series of just NFT collectibles, you know, they weren't. They weren't like projects because there's no. promise or anything. I was just more interested in the idea of making, like, if we were to conceptualize them as, like, pogs, if you guys know what pogs are. Remember Logs. I was like, cool, you can, like, this is like, like pogs or something like that. And I'm going to make a series of pogs. And I like. From an art perspective of this idea of, like, working in really tight boundaries. And with harsh limits, and like seeing what you can do or like seeing what kind of variation you can make in those limits. So I really liked when these... collectibles started coming out, but I never, I never did.
anything generative. I always just, assembled them by hand or whatever.
Yeah, no, I really like how... Just as you point out, having to sort of narrow down, restrict, and constrict—uh, you're medium. really forces you to have to be like, maximally creative in a certain way.
Yeah, absolutely. And it's sort of, there's something fun about, of course, for the viewer or collector.
Um, when you know things are in these tight confines, like, for example, like I drew a collection that I didn't finish that was called '333 Fish Friends' right, and they were just like hand-drawn fish on a balloon background. You know, they all filled the same general area in the frame. But then it was like, um, okay, I'm going to do this. And then one of them is like, 'Not going to be a fish.' You know, and then it like, it kind of makes that more exciting. When like the, you know, there's these tight boundaries and then one thing breaks the boundary or something. And a lot of NFT projects we're doing. Some similar thing like that, I think. Especially these small, I bought a lot of little tiny stuff. And that's actually probably where I made the bulk of my money was also trading on just little tiny collections.
And also those are my favorites— are all these like little single creator, just art collections with no big promise or something like that. I saw a lot of it there.
Oh, especially at the right time and the right place? Yeah, it's amazing.
Oh, I don't know. I would say it's amazing, but then again, like... Were you around for 2017 in the ICO craze?
No, no, no. Not really.
The ICO craze was almost just about, it's just like decadently just throw money all over the place. Just, just almost grotesque, but at the same time, like, Yeah, you know, no, you can't hate it too much. You made some money too.
Like, yeah. Yep. When I'm talking to someone outside the market and explaining, like, The insanity of like. excitement and movement during that time. I always tell them about one trade I made. Which was, I was just... I was primarily momentum trading. So I was just watching the open sea log fly by. And then it's like, 'some there was a little grouping of things' or, if like, a particular You know, because you can see a thumbnail. If a thumbnail will catch my eye. I just like zoom in and then check the action in there.
Or if sometimes it would just be the... alerting me to a collection that didn't have any action on it, but I was like, 'Ooh, this is intriguing artwork or whatever.' So, anyways, I was doing that. And. A couple buys came up on this. little collection, which funny enough, I can't remember the name of. But it was these paintings. And there were these little, like, uh, they were like kind of space alien-y paintings. And it was clear that they were like scans of real images of, you know, material artwork rather than digital artwork. And. I was in a room with some other friends of mine who were trading on, uh, on clubhouse and, um, I was like, what the hell is this? And he's like, if it doesn't make any sense, they're going to go to the moon. I was like, okay, so we all bought them. And then. I bought mine for maybe $100. And then we all listed. And.
An hour went by and I bought it for $100,000 and sold it for $10,000 within the hour. And it was, I don't know who the painter was. The All the action died immediately after my sale. I think I sold maybe the picot top or the second to the picot top. And that was it. It was just this little run of trading. There was only one round of little secondary sales and then it was gone. And somebody just took A $10,000 L. on something that they probably have no idea what it even is. Because it didn't even have a a link, like an external link at the time to like refer, you know, give you more information about the collection.
These musical chairs games are ruthless out here. Goodness gracious.
I mean, that sounds about right. By the time you could figure out what it is, the action was over. On some of these projects.
Yeah, right.
Yeah.
You had to be sprinting all the time, for sure. And sometimes, too, you would be sprinting so hard. You would buy a fake of something. And then... Just relist the fake and someone will just buy it from you, making the same mistake.
Well, then it got to that. Then it got the whitelist craze. That's true. That's true. What is it? The tubby cats? Holy crap!
I knew then that that was the absolute, this is an absolute craziness, like a frenzy. Like they're fish, you know, when you feed them. They just absolutely go to all that food.
I've never seen anything like it. And then I was like, 'Okay, I caught on at Toby Cats.' And. Man. But yeah, it went from that, the small action, into the whitelist. Great. Just people buying whitelist and stuff. Man.
Yeah. Well, I definitely made some money off of the white lift craze, but of course, like, none of us probably made the money that people who were like truly deep insiders who would just get whitelist on everything automatically, you know?
Yeah, there had to be that. There was no... You thought crypto didn't have regulation. The NFT thing is the most bizarre.
Unregulated space I've ever seen. Artwork is artwork, and people were writing this stuff off, and all this stuff.
Whatever.
And it was cheating. It was, but.
Yes.
It was. I mean, in... From my perspective, in the midst of all that fever, like the really good part about it is. They didn't get paid the most, and maybe more money should have been diverted to them, but there were lots of little-time artists that were making money. You know, and like and like someone like myself, I could never normally hang out. Um, doing what I did, but I, because I could trade a little bit, I could like hang out and make artwork and like. So, And they were just like dudes from Thailand. Who maybe never would have had access to an American art market in this way. And they're like selling artwork for the first time. And it's like, you know, pretty good amounts of money. I mean, that part of it was so cool.
I thought, well, in the commission part too, I got some good contacts through all this, and those folks that were probably unknown in Japan are now like pretty big NFT and IRL artists. I've got a couple pieces by them, and I'm in. And I got contacts with him where I used to engage with him and refer people. And so that was a benefit out of that, too. So, you know.
Vielen Dank. I would never like. I would have never commissioned anybody if it wasn't for this stuff. And for Forgotten Runes. I mean, I would never commission anything. Until that. So, you know, got me out of into that comfort zone. And whatnot. Who knows what's going to happen the next run?
If there is.
Yeah.
Oh, we all just said 'yes' at the same time.
Well, one of the things, since we're talking about it, the speculation. What is this Legend of Mara thing you were talking about, Wild Mage?
Okay, so you guys know how... when Bear Snake, you know, when Bear Snake popped by, maybe about a month ago or so. And... We asked him, like, you know, like, how legit, how much, you know, is this alpha or not with the whole Twitter? Thread that they posted on the Forgotten Runes main Twitter about the little enchanted vessel and the little baby wizard and the wizard that disappeared and all that sort of thing. You know what I'm talking about?
And um, Yeah, actually, me and Hearn actually did a little bit of looking at it. I really need to revisit it and look a little bit more, because Bearsnake did say that Elf crafted that whole, like, storyline with that. Um, purposefully for there to be like alpha there.
Um, I'm just not sure what that is, but all that being said, the, uh, that Legends of Mara game, which of course is, uh, What's featured in that Twitter thread, one of the tokens, that is, it just started up this past week.
And, um, and then there was that video that showed that there would be prizes and, um, and a couple of those prizes was, was, were a couple like forgotten runes, pixelated like treats. Did you see that?
Yes.
And, of course, like, those treats are... We don't have those books, or at least we don't have them yet.
You'll notice.
But, so, I don't know. Curious to see how... I don't know. I want to take a closer look at it, especially because I think they're about to pretty soon allow other tokens like the Wizards to actually affect the gameplay.
Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that Dota mentioned the 8-coin DAO, the 8-DAO? And integration with Goblin Town game.
And. Or was that just, you think, a side project?
Oh, did they put forth?
They were talking about it last Wizard Wednesday about engaging the 8DAO about being a partner in it and running the whole thing.
That's not a terrible idea at all because there's definitely... I mean, I've been playing that heavy metal, the robots game. And like, Just the amount of money that people spend on ApeCoin for like, or even just paying for votes and whatnot. People definitely put quite a bit of money into that game. So you would have, well, I mean, for good and for bad, you would definitely have some ballers, like, balling out and... buying up, you know, resources in mass.
Okay, I didn't know, yeah, I heard that on the, I read that in the Wizard Wednesday recap.
um, about the eight Dow and. I guess there was a talk about it in the sales chat. I cannot remember. Forgotten Ruins, Wizard Cult, Discord, sales chat has occasional alpha, and they talk about... Coin metrics and tokenomics and such. It's either there, the secret tower, or somewhere else. But I'm not making this up. It was discussed.
You know, just so much has gone on in the last week. I can't keep it straight. Probably should have taken a note on that. But yeah. Dota mentioned it. So...
Mm-hmm.
Before we forget, O-Fed. Tell the audience about one of your top NFT projects you happen to have still for sale, as a matter of fact.
Oh, they might not be listed right now. Their listings expire all the time. Really small. But yeah, I believe you're talking about pixel imps. which is that. a collection I made. Um, they. It has, as I was mentioning earlier, very strict boundaries. for You know, like. artistic boundaries, like, All of them share exactly the same legs. It's a very small number of pixels. There's only... two pixel or three pixel colors. There's the background, purple. A red color, uh, red dots. Single pixels for the eyes. And then black. So it's really like austere. Boundaries for expression. And then I made a series of 99.
And then my thinking at the time was like, 90% of NFT projects, um, 99% perhaps. At that time, offered like no utility, so to speak. And so, sort of jokingly, I was like, 'Well, I'm just going to.' Offer the lowest bar.
Utility out there. Which is you can wear it. And so, Um, each pixel in. has a one-of-one pinback button. That I mail to whoever buys it. Should they want it? There are some people, of course, who are. Fully and on. And don't want to expose any sort of address in those ones. Stay with me. And I think, I think we. Out of the 99, I think I sold like 50 of them or something. And also had lots of trouble with the mail getting the right. mailing procedure down. And then also like, A couple of the buyers were like international and like. Getting an address by getting mail to someplace in China was not as easy as I expected. And actually. perhaps still hasn't happened. I mean, this guy maybe is sort of like left the NFT market. I wasn't really responsive anymore after I tried to mail them. I might be on the third one I'm trying to mail them. So that's another interesting part about it.
I did say the pinback buttons are one of one. But if the mailing fails, I manufacture another one. And, um, and mail. Nail that one. So then the supply gets a little inflated. On that one.
And I thought it's interesting to have a one. You know, when people make pinback buttons, they almost always make hundreds or whatever of the same. One. Right? And I think it's pretty rare to have a one of one. Pin back button that belongs in a series, maybe no one else has done that. I don't know.
E aí I've never made pinback buttons before, but I definitely had a bunch of them when I was in my punk phase in high school.
Yeah, they're great.
That's awesome. So that was Pixel Imps.
Yeah, Pixel Imps. Yeah, I was also like so excited that I got that name. Because to me, it seemed like a desirable one.
I mean... They're very quaint. I had to pick up a couple myself. Well, that's fantastic.
Yeah, thank you. Thank you for your support.
Oh. I haven't. I need to advertise them again at some point, but. I have another pinback button that I'm going to be... releasing soon. And so maybe after that, this one, like. I want a little crazy attention to detail on that. The button and the packaging design. So it's like, it's in there. You know, premium, if not ultra premium, category for a pinback button.
Cool. Well, those are the pair to IRL stuff with an actual NFT. That's great. And, I mean, I don't know of too many projects that have done that. Somebody mentioned today, 99% of the projects that were minted in NFTs, but only 1% is left. I mean, what is the percentage of one that actually has an IRL item? That actually minted something too. I wonder what that percentage would be.
I think they... I think... If you would be hard-pressed to find... any other project that sold an NFT and then... mailed a physical for free. I bet you almost none of them. There's one other that I think like— did this whole rug narrative to get out of their obligation.
But that was part of their initial promise. And then there was this guy, another small creator, who I think has become some like notable Pepe show. called MOOCs. And this was— I bought one of his MOOCs and he just tweeted. 'Who wants a beanie?' And he mailed me a beanie with the MOOC on it. So that's the only other one that I know of.
Well, I guess we got Goblin Town. It was not Goblin Town the game. Yeah. Goblin Town. I was going to say. Yeah.
did it too. They sent you something? No, I bought it, but they actually sent it to me. I bought it in non, which was crazy, and it was like one of 69 t-shirts they had, and if you sweat in it or get hot, it changes to this yellow. And, uh, Oh, that's interesting. My wife got it. in the mail and she goes, 'What is this and she took the freaking tag off of it. And I'm looking for the tag. And I was like, 'Why did you take the tag off of it?'
Oh, yeah.
Well, whatever it was. I think I got like 48 out of 69. And I've got it. I've never worn it. But I thought that was funny. I was like, 'Where's the tag?' She's like, 'Why would you buy a T-shirt and not wear it?' I was like, 'You don't understand.'
This is rare. NFTPodget sold something and I got it.
Oh, yeah. So, yeah, that's. Not to confuse things, I didn't mean, there's plenty who have sold physical items. But I think there's almost none that are like. You get this physical item just for buying the NFT. You don't have to. We're not asking you for more money.
Yeah.
Which to me is like, a pinback button is like an incredibly low, this, it was to put, I was doing it actually in a sort of like shaming way to some other artists. I was around where it's like, The least you could do for a hundred bucks is like mail somebody something. Or in my case, the least I could do for, I don't know, they were 0. 013. So it's like. Even then, it's like, it's affordable for me to send. A pinback button. That seems like, you know. the least I could do to some degree.
This is true. Yeah, I guess it kind of went a little too far when you actually had to buy it. But I was still surprised that even if I bought it, I got it. Because I remember the hype on that. I mean, he sold out in 10 seconds.
Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't imagine if you minted something and you promised a physical and you had like 10,000. and you had to do 10,000, I don't know what you would do at that point.
But I mean, in most of these cases, if that's the only promise you made. Like, you're being reasonably compensated to come up with $10,000. Oh, yeah. Physical things, right? That's the way I looked at it. It's like, yeah, if I, I mean, I didn't do $10,000, I did a hundred. But if like, you know, all 100 sold, it's like, great, that's a good payday for this amount of labor. And like. And on top of that, it's like, I want, you know, it should be not an item that's like sort of like forced on the person or held hostage. It should be like something that the person can make use of or actually like wants, you know.
Have you tried the words or friend test?
I have. I'm on Frantech.
Oh, that's right.
I made a little money, but... There's nothing going on in my room. No one's saying anything. I'm saying something once a day, just so... Because I dump anybody who doesn't say anything in their room for more than a week. It's like, all right, you're not using this anymore. But, um, I'm like, I'm not trying to offer from in my mind, the alpha is there's no alpha. So I'm not offering any alpha.
or anything like that. I'm only offering dialogue and no one seems to be interested. So. But my shit is traded pretty okay for a minute.
Yeah, I saw that. And if I could afford it, I would. I haven't been able to buy many Frentech shares yet.
Yes, if it's money out the door, it's expensive for... Like, really, the like small social side of it. It doesn't work as well, I think, as the like scaled side. Because. How many of us can just like, you know, spend 50 bucks.
Just for like, a chat room that someone might use, you know?
That's a fact.
Like, I wish that... Yeah, I wish I could decrease the curve on mine. You know, I wish it's like, everybody can get in here for $10 or something, you know, and like, or like, and it goes up by one cent each time. Because to me, it doesn't seem useful at my level. Um, I'm not famous or popular in the way that people would be willing to pay 0. 1 to talk to me. You know?
Well, you know, you got some really good posts that you put out there and some of the content that you have. I think one of the things you said— probably, man— this is where we're going about a year ago. You were like, you know, not every tweet is a banger. But if I do 40% of them as a banger, then, you know, that's probably why you're following me. And I think Crow's producer said something to the. to the extent of, you know, you got to keep posting. Eventually something's going to pop. And, you know, for prose producer, that was, you know, one of the things that always stuck with me with that. But I'm saying, if you've got your friend tech, are you like upping your game with your tweets in there and not posting stuff out? Oh, no, not at all.
Yeah. Yeah, not at all. Inside my front check room is me going like, 'Good morning!' And then that's pretty much it. Um, I don't really have, like, I can't imagine what I would be offering there. Just like. Peace. The same kind of tweets that I'm making on the outside. For me, like, those... part of their, uh, Their ethos is like, they definitely have to be free and not gated. And like, You know, I, I'm trying to. write stuff to share to as many people as possible, hopefully. Especially now, I mean. I don't want to sound too ridiculous, but. I think, like, there's like, um, a lot of really like nasty thought patterns that you like bash into on Twitter every day, or at least I do. Maybe it's just my timeline. And, um, I think they kind of like move around like the cold. Whereas, like, you know, someone's like sneezing on the timeline and then like you read this horrible negative thing and it like gets on you. You know, and maybe brings your immune system down or something.
So I'm like, I'm trying to like pump the opposite stuff. And so the timeline. You know? and pump like immune system material. And like, uh, but, you know, and not in such like. And it can't. And from my perspective, like, to make it.
Uh, not in like a cheap way because that's easily like, you know, a bacteria has no problem eating through something very cheap, right? Yeah. Yeah. Pram. Yeah.
Or if it's, yeah, if it's just sugar, it's just fuel for that more negative vibes, you know.
And I kind of feel like Frentech is just a derivative of what Telegram was, or... maybe just a gated, gated discourse.
Yeah, it's reinventing the token-gated Discord channel.
Some of the people that I follow are DM on the side or whatnot that maybe have a lot of followers.
They're telling me, well, you know, I really don't know what else I can offer my friend tech group that you probably don't already know, or I'm really idle right now in my trading. And I can't really like. I can guess I can paper trade, but I'm not really.
offering the type of stuff. or presenting trades that I was back in 2000, March 2022 or 2021.
So, I mean. There's that side too.
Yeah, I think like, The gate. Well, for me, um, The whole like gated alpha discord. narrative or whatever.
That narrative had sort of fallen apart for me. maybe early on, but there was like a moment that I think like really was just like the complete indicator. That was like nonsense. Was like, this NFT project came out called MirrorPass. And if you owned a MirrorPass, you can see inside of all the other locked discourse. Oh, wow. Right?
And so. Suddenly, anybody who had a Mirror Pass, and then actually, amazingly, the next collection that got released, or soon after a collection got released, called Mirror Mirror Pass. Which just mirrored Mirror Pass. So you could look at MirrorPass for cheaper. Right? It was really great. I mean, This in itself, I think Mirror Pass. Deserves. I really like high esteem. In like NFT history. Because it was a really beautiful concept. And it was like, adversarial and like piratey in a way that I really appreciate. And like, you know, the Wild West piratey sort of chaos aspect of NFTs is something I really loved. And to me, it like really embodied the ethos. But anyway. The thing that was very revelatory to me about from your past was. As soon as you could see in all the other alpha discords, you realize that there was no alpha. You know?
There was nothing. There was no special information, really. And, um, so I think like, yeah. To me, the alpha is always there's no alpha. And, um, Of course, it's not entirely true, but That's my response to anybody who's offering Alpha. I mean, what you guys do is totally different, right? Because you're like, Spreading news, offering takes and stuff. It's not really alpha. It's something cooler than alpha. Um, But the alpha peddlers, I mean, I just. It works sometimes if they're at a critical mass, right? Because they go. Hey. You know, whatever.
Potato muffins, NFT is going to moon. And then they have like 10,000, you know, a thousand. 4,000 people in their Discord. And then it moons because all of them go and rush at it. You know what I mean? They like. They like manifest that, you know. But maybe he wasn't going to without that call or something.
You got a point. I mean, you know, we can speak all day about forgotten ruins, but, you know, talk about what they're building and delivering and such. However, token prices don't reflect what you probably should expect from something that's building so much. But you know, it's there. One day it's going to pop, and then you're like, 'Where was the alpha on this?' Well, it's been here the whole time. It's just market dynamics and whatnot.
You know, just put downward pressure at a certain time. And that's what happened. But if you also look at the fact that, when NFTs were popping off, the wizard cult was pretty down. It did not follow the... the parabolic trajectory at the onset.
Like the other projects did. And we were like, 'Oh, just wait, just wait.' People just don't see the real value of it. In what we're creating. And it's almost been a good thing because of that non... parabolic rise, like the apes and such, is what I'm talking about. Is kind of just you know, just 'Stay the course.' On what they've been building.
Yeah, we're down now, but it'll come back.
Yeah, this is something that I always really admired because... Um, it's. Rune Wizards was on its own path. And it wasn't like copying.
Other structures you know most of the time when they were releasing something it was like novel and we'd never seen anything like it before. You know, whether it was like that. The mint, I can't even remember what they're called, but the like big, bad guy things that had the Little sidekick guys.
You're a baby.
Yeah. Yes, right. Yeah. So I really admired that. And to be honest, like, in you know, it's been maybe half a year now or something, but when like Dota started on the timeline, like cozying up to Bored Ape a little bit. This was like very disappointing to me because I was, I was like, 'No, no, no, stay on your own path. Stay on your own path. Don't get like.' Caught in this weird nonsense, you know? I don't know that. I'm sure that didn't happen, but it didn't look good to me at the moment.
Well, definitely. Well, speaking of Forgotten Runes, we're going to pivot to our Treat of the Week. Um... Street of the Week. Street of the Week. It's Nightshade Point and 87 supply.
It is a treat that is a semi-rare treat. I bought one because I used to have a red hat wizard that had a nightshade potion and I was making lore about it. But since the token has been sold, I still have the nightshade. I may still write some lore about that. But what do you think it's for?
Wild Mage.
I think...
That the nightshade planned.
Well, first off, I find it, well, the rarity is just rare enough, and I find it just curious enough that it's just called the nightshade plant.
So I guess I'm kind of thinking maybe it could be a kind of plant that essentially you... I guess have like some magical flexibility with in terms of. What kind of fruit? From the Nightshade family it produces.
You know, because it might be tomatoes. It might be tomatillos.
It might be potatoes.
Or it might be Belladonna.
So, you know. I like the idea of, uh, a magically flexible plant like that that covers all the bases of one single plant family. I know. What were you thinking, Henboy?
I think it has the medicinal... It's a semi-rare thing, but it'll be used in a variety of different objects, whether it'll be potions, whether it'll be crushed up to make pills, dyes, or whatever it is.
And it'll give, I think it's going to be a status or stamina or a defense reducing type of thing in the game. Um, and also will be able for crafting.
You remember, you saw Game of Thrones, right? Yes.
And how, like, when, out of that one time that Joffrey, like, really just talked back to, like, Todd one time, it was like, 'Send him to bed and prepare some Essence of Nightshade for him.'
So I think I could definitely see Nightshade having... maybe some sort of hypnotic effect or maybe even something, or maybe even an extra restful effect. Like, maybe a bonus like restful action, potentially.
I'm— What does our special guest think?
Yeah, what does our special guest look like?
Oh, Nightshade?
I don't, you know, I don't know. You know, I haven't opened a single loot box yet. I still have a bunch of them. Never open one.
But Nightshade.
Aí. Um, I have the nightshade that I think is typically just like called nightshade right in the yard. And it really like has a very strong, odd smell. Whenever I'm pulling it out. So, uh, maybe you can use it to make stink bombs or something.
I love it. Stink bomb.
That is fantastic.
Yeah, I think it's definitely the kind of planet that would... have probably a wide variety of applications.
Yeah, it's supposed to be really poisonous, right? There was one growing in this house that I used to live in. In the middle of the yard. And then. My friend's rabbits were just sort of like free range in like. The rabbit just like came and ate the whole thing to the ground and was fine. And we looked it up and it's definitely supposed to kill rabbits. So I don't really know what was going on.
Mmm.
Oh, man. Well, are you... Are you excited, or do you have any plans, or do you have anyone you plan on posing up with, Ofec, with Goblin Town? Since it seems like it's going to be a PvP and competitive.
Yeah, I don't know. I guess it'll depend on, like, how, uh, how much time it'll take from my like commitment on my side and uh, what kind of assets they start us out with. Was the comic book thing for Goblin Town or was that for the next game?
No, that's just, I guess, forgotten. Yeah, that's just the secondary project.
No, no, but what I'm saying is they had some tweet saying you get items if you buy it. Okay, gotcha.
Oh, actually, so that most recent update, Golden Apple Comics. So you don't actually have to order through a comic book shop at all. You can just order online through Golden Apple Comics, right?
Or you can go to your local comic book store and put a subscription in. And when they come in, you can go there to the store to buy it.
Yeah, and I think part of the hope with that action is that you bring awareness of it to the comic shop owner and maybe someone else who would happen to see it.
I know these crotchety... Old Magic: The Gathering playing.
green lantern shirt wearing, looking like, I know these guys and they, and they hate NFTs and they think they're cool for hating NFTs.
But maybe they'll get suckered in because they'll read the comic without knowing. And then they'll be like, I'm going to look into this further.
No, I liked this. Oh, my life is over.
Yeah, I ordered it here at one of my local comic shops. And I was sort of like looking at the guy's face and his reaction. as I was talking about it to see if, you know, there was any reading like he knew anything about it or Seemed like there was no recognition, so. Maybe he'll look at it and be like, hey, this is pretty cool. Good illustrations. What is this comic that this guy came in and ordered?
The owners at my local comic book store actually said, 'Oh, yeah, looks like there's a pretty good response to this.' I think we've got a bunch of orders in. Oh, yeah, 25 copies of each cover. I was like, 'What?' All right.
Wow, man. Makes you wonder who your neighbors are.
They have no idea. I don't know. The owners were like, 'Yeah, it looks good.' And he said, 'What is it?' The artist, Riley, was Deadpool in Spider-Man. They sell a lot of Deadpool and Spider-Man at that particular store. So maybe with that.
Oh, so maybe they're collecting from, so someone who's collecting from the artist or something.
Yeah, I mean, he said, 'Yeah, they're pretty good.' By all the major publishers. It's a pretty good shop here. So, you know, we'll see. I'm excited.
Hello.
Yeah, it's interesting. I mean, it's how many years since Forgotten Runes launched? This is like an interesting thing to watch unfold and like this build out. And uh, you know, it's— I don't think it's beyond its initial raise, basically, which is like selling us. Well, I guess there was the Beast and stuff too. The like non-digital product. Hasn't had to face the market yet and, you know, see if it's going to be profitable or whatnot. So. It's pretty exciting to see.
It definitely is. Well, you know. I can't thank you enough for joining our show today on such short notice and switching places essentially with Dr. Slurp. Um, it's just been fantastic. And believe it or not, I think we've got some alpha out of all this conversation. We got to know you a little better. And I mean, you're just as on point as you are with your tweets. So, you know, you get what you get. I mean, and that's just, you know, awesome. To have you on. And we would love to have you back.
Thanks, guys. It was very fun.
On a completely just out of nowhere side note question.
Does anybody know who actually owns the wizard that's on the cover? Who's the sort of villainous-looking dude with the red and white striped shirt wizard? On the cover of the comic books? Like, who owns that wizard? Oh.
I'm pretty sure. It's out.
Yeah. Oh.
Well...
Yo.
Ha! Well, that's pretty cool.
Hey, I got a question. Sorry to change the subject, but Um, What do you guys remember this? I think it was like a somewhat derivative or side project called Loxie's Oracle.
You guys remember this? Yeah, what was it? Retired yield farmer and he's planning to come on at some point to give us an update.
Okay. Yeah, so he's still working because he hasn't really posted any updates or anything, I think, for a long time.
Or at least I haven't seen them.
Yeah, still working on that.
So I was pretty curious if that was still going.
As far as I know. And he popped in a couple weeks ago on one of our shows. So I know he's around. And I'll DM him and get him. But he was supposed to be a guest. Goodness, probably three months ago at this point. Um, on our show.
Yeah, we've got to bug him and Merlin.
Yeah, him and Merlin are on the hit list to come on.
Playing Legasys. Legasys. Golly.
This is our 25th episode, by the way. We're rapidly approaching in two episodes. Half of a year. Which is freaking crazy. And we need to get this catalog and AI text paper so we can enter all this lore that we've discussed and put it into permanent record because.
Transposing. To. Almost 30 hours of. Monday magic news is going to be brutal.
This is...
This is such a really nice format you guys have and like such a nice service. For like all forgotten rune holders. It's really, really pretty cool.
We appreciate it. We try our best in preparing each week and bringing everything to the forefront and for derivatives. Black sand and all that. And just trying to get a one show that we can discuss it and get to know our cult members. We like decided it's like, it's a player's only meeting every week. Like this is, we don't try to have bear snake. When he did join us that one time was fantastic. We really enjoy it. We may have some more Magic Machine people on. But, um, you know, the format has just been really fantastic and we can't wait to get it into print. So we can update the Wikipedia and the Book of Lore, and everything else. So we actually have these records of talking about Nightshade, the Barbell, and all that stuff.
Because I mean, this is basically writing lore entries. Through discussion and it's, and we've recorded it. So.
Yeah, that's a great, what a great idea. Man, the, the, It's also pretty fortunate that, like, Forgotten Rune Wizard is just, like, also has a really interesting and diverse and kind of strange holder base. Maybe. Quite a bit different than most other projects.
I would agree with that, especially since... It really has. More on Monday coming up. Are they even doing that this weekend, Wild Mage?
I'm sure they are. You know, I'd almost dare say, like, You know, it's almost a tad clickish, but... But like, but, but, but, you know, when I say clickish. I don't mean it. I mean it mostly not in a negative way.
Well, that's fine, though. You know, it's it's it's it's. natural culture and that's more you know, what you could really hope for, I think. I mean, so many projects talked about trying to establish some community. But then the center, like, the center focal point of their community would be like, 'Yeah, we're the guys who have the alpha.' We're like, 'You know, or like, we make great trades.' It's like, 'I don't know.' For me, those narratives run dry really fast. But, uh, Sticking the idea of like building a story together, and building out a world together at the center. Just works so much better, it seems, and makes these sort of actual... you know, motivates people for something other than. something so disposable or something.
I'm rambling.
Yeah, it takes the gambling effect away. You know what you're building. You're actually building something of value.
You know. And you're having fun doing it. We wouldn't do it if we weren't having fun.
It's about the creativity. That's right.
Well, next. Well, I guess, yeah, we may need to head out. We got Dr. Slurton next week. That's right.
We'll try to run him back next week. Thank you for our distinguished guests for joining us. Thank you, guys.
It always seems to work out despite how much we've planned. Or not plan.
So we'll check you guys out.
It does have a name.
Come back more on Monday. Bye, y'all. Thanks. Bye.
Субтитры сделал DimaTorzok.
Bye. Thank you. Bye.
Bye. Bye.
Thanks for watching! Thank you.
Thank you.
